What Our Caregivers Do

Your loved one’s hospice or medical team visits on its own schedule and remains fully in charge of their medical care. Families are often left to cover the long hours in between. Our caregivers help fill those hours with calm, reliable, non-medical support:

  • Companionship and presence: sitting with your loved one, talking, reading aloud, playing favorite music, or simply being there through the night.
  • Comfort and personal care: gentle help with bathing, dressing, grooming, and getting comfortable, always with dignity and respect.
  • Meals and fluids: preparing light meals and offering drinks according to the wishes of your loved one and their care team.
  • Friendly reminders to take medications as prescribed (our caregivers do not handle or administer medication).
  • A calm, tidy home: light housekeeping and laundry, so the family’s energy can go where it matters most.
  • Support for the family: a trusted, professional presence that lets spouses and adult children step away for an hour or a full night’s sleep.

Working Alongside Your Hospice or Medical Team

We are a non-medical agency. Our caregivers do not provide medical, nursing, or hospice services. We follow your loved one’s daily routines and your family’s wishes, and we stay in touch with their hospice or medical team. When caregivers notice changes in comfort, appetite, or mood, they write them down and pass them on to your family and to that team, so the professionals in charge can respond.

Our office staff supervise every caregiver and coordinate with your loved one’s hospice or medical team, so care at home runs smoothly and everyone stays informed.

Why Families Trust Acuity Homecare

  • Reliable, day or night: hourly and live-in options, with our office reachable 24/7.
  • Family-owned and responsive: you work directly with owners who stay personally involved.
