Live-In Home Care Anywhere in Connecticut
Non-medical, family-owned live-in caregivers available statewide in Connecticut.
Some families reach a point where a few hours of help each day is no longer enough. Maybe Mom is uneasy being alone at night, or Dad needs a steady hand from the moment he wakes up until he goes to bed. Live-in care lets your loved one stay in the home they know while someone is there throughout the day to help.
Acuity Homecare LLC is a family-owned, non-medical private duty home care agency based in Shelton. While our hourly caregivers serve four counties, our live-in caregivers are available statewide in Connecticut, from the shoreline to the northwest hills and the Quiet Corner.
What Live-In Care Includes
Live-in care is non-medical, everyday support from a caregiver who stays in the home. Depending on what your family needs, that can include:
- Personal care: help with bathing, dressing, grooming, and getting ready for the day.
- Meals: planning and preparing meals and keeping the kitchen tidy afterward.
- Companionship: conversation, cards, puzzles, walks, and a familiar face at the table.
- Steady routines: a calm, predictable rhythm to each day, which many seniors find comforting.
- Support with ongoing health conditions: non-medical help with daily living for people managing chronic conditions, so routines stay on track.
- Respite for family: a live-in arrangement can give a spouse or adult child who has been doing everything the chance to rest and simply be family again.
- Companionship during serious illness: non-medical comfort and companionship for your loved one and family, alongside the client’s hospice or medical team.
Please note that our caregivers do not provide medical, nursing, or skilled care. Any medical needs should continue to be handled by your loved one’s doctors, nurses, or hospice provider.

Why Families Choose Acuity Homecare for Live-In Care
We are family-owned. Inviting someone to live in your parent’s home is a big decision. We understand that, and we treat it with the care it deserves.
One agency, the whole state. Whether your parent lives in a town you grew up in or you are coordinating care from out of state, you can work with one Connecticut agency for live-in care.
We are registered. Acuity Homecare is registered with the Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection as a homemaker-companion agency, registration HCA.0001496.
We listen first. Every family’s situation is different. We start by understanding your loved one’s routines, preferences, and personality before talking about schedules.

How Live-In Care Starts
- Free consultation. Call us at 203-295-0274. We will talk through what is happening at home, what kind of help is needed, and whether live-in care is the right fit or whether hourly care might work better.
- Free 100-point home safety assessment. We look through the home for everyday hazards, such as loose rugs, poor lighting, or hard-to-reach items, and share practical suggestions to help make the space safer.
- A care plan built around your loved one. Together we put together a non-medical plan that reflects daily routines and family wishes.
- Care begins. We stay in touch with your family as needs change over time.
Areas We Serve
Live-in caregivers are available throughout Connecticut. Hourly caregivers are available in Fairfield, Hartford, Litchfield, and New Haven Counties. If you are not sure whether we can help in your parent’s town, just call and ask.
