Acuity Homecare is a family-owned and operated provider of non-medical home care services. We provide experienced, well-trained caregivers and companions, carefully matched to you or your loved one. We help our clients maintain dignity while remaining safe and independent in the comfort of their own home.
Our Story
Acuity Homecare was founded from a desire to improve upon our own personal experiences in healthcare. Throughout our 20-plus years of combined nursing practice my wife and I recognized that most of our patients had one thing in common. That is, despite being cared for by highly trained professionals within a hospital, skilled nursing facility or rehabilitation center, they maintained a strong desire to recover at home. The comfort, familiarity and assurance felt in their own home along with easy accessibility to their support network of friends and family allowed for a safer, faster recovery. Acuity Homecare provides non-medical home care only.
At Acuity Homecare we have dedicated ourselves to ensuring every one of our clients is treated like a real person. We provide compassion, respect, professionalism and good old-fashioned excellent customer service. We visit our clients and caregivers in person routinely to ensure satisfaction with our service, and our office team supervises caregivers in the home.
Does your agency organize and host events and outings for you or your loved one?
Well, Acuity Homecare does. Our caregivers do not just sit by the bedside on their phones while you or your loved one sit quietly in their own thoughts. We are a socially interactive company that engages with our clients in a way that other companies do not. Our events planner organizes picnics, movie nights, concerts, or nature walks to name a few for all of our clients (weather and each client’s comfort and abilities considered). We utilize social media (with client and family authorization) such as Facebook and Instagram to highlight fun activities our clients partake in. This keeps families and friends involved and connected to the social life their loved one has. We also provide a family room through our website where loved ones can keep up with daily activities and stay in touch with our staff and caregivers.

Our Caregivers
Our caregivers and companions are some of the most compassionate professionals you will ever meet. We take special care to ensure they are well-experienced and fully vetted through a multi-step on-boarding process prior to joining our team.
Every caregiver we hire has at least two years of experience caring for others. In addition, they must pass a comprehensive federal & local background check to ensure complete safety and confidence for our clients.
We hold every caregiver to a high professional standard: reliable, well-trained, and trustworthy. Acuity Homecare caregivers must be compassionate, caring, and of the highest moral compass.
To guarantee the highest level of protection for our clients, Acuity Homecare is fully registered, bonded, and insured. We are registered with the Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection as a homemaker-companion agency (registration HCA.0001496).
